Update regarding ClassicVGM issue 4
ClassicVGM continues to evolve. As we continue to expand, people become more aware of our presence in the classic gaming community, including the people who have shaped the hobby we enjoy today. We have features in issue 4 that demanded additional time, and it was our obligation to delay issue 4 until these features were completed.
We wanted to bring this to the attention of the classic gaming community, but most importantly our readers, who continue to support us.
We have corresponded with many of you via email, and understand that you prefer the very best in printed material (i.e. original content, features, etc.) than something slapped together in a hurry to stay on schedule.
We take publishing ClassicVGM very seriously, and we are not going anywhere.
The digital version of ClassicVGM issue 4 will be released soon. If you have already subscribed to our digital option, you will receive an email with a special link to download issue 4 (once available). The digital subscription price of $4.95 is valid to all territories (i.e. US and World), so do not hesitate to subscribe if you prefer digital over print.
All digital issues are released in Adobe PDF high-res.
Pre-orders for the newsstand edition of ClassicVGM issue 4 end on June 19th, 2010. We have received responses to extend our current June 19th, 2010 deadline for pre-orders, and an update regarding this will be released shortly.
ClassicVGM issue 4 is NOW Shipping; Issue 4 Digital NOW available
ClassicVGM issue 4 is now shipping. The digital version is also available, and in the process of being emailed to digital subscribers. Like previous digital issues, it can be purchased individually (if you did not subscribe) for $1.95US. The ‘Buy’ link can be found in the black navi-bar to the right of this announcement.
Any concerns or questions regarding subscriptions, single issue purchases, and advertising can be sent to sales@classicvgm.com
Updates...
Due to an unfortunate event, our Editor / Publisher - who also heads up distribution / shipment of ClassicVGM - had fallen very ill, and this caused a shipping delay with some subscriptions and / or pre-orders.
We are working diligently to rectify this problem. If you are a subscriber of ClassicVGM, or have pre-ordered issue #4, we invite you to accept our offer to either accept a subscription extension (if you are a subscriber) or a free issue (if you pre-ordered issue #4). Please contact Sales@ClassicVGM.com
Now on to a more pressing matter. It was brought to our attention that people have been pirating our digital issues. Our server also shows illegal downloads from these person(s) who did not pay for these issues. We don’t take theft very lightly.
All current, and future, digital issues of ClassicVGM will be dealt with differently. Any links that were floating around on the Internet that led back to our server have been abolished. If you can’t even afford $1.95 for a single issue then we truly feel for you. At the very least, we hope you enjoyed the free (albeit illegal) issues.
Other than this, it is back to business as usual as we catch up. A big thank you goes out to the people who truly support us; we love every single one of you!
Update: New Digital Issue Delivery System Will Be Live Shortly
Going forward, all digital issues that are sold will be emailed to the customer. A link with an expiration date will lead to a secure server to download the issue purchased. This is one issue solved out of many, and we apologize for the horrendous delays.
As an indie publication, we take pride in the work we publish. And while ClassicVGM is professionally printed, our resources are limited. When your resources are violated (like ours were), it creates a big dent in things.
Issues of ClassicVGM are forthcoming, as are any issues that are still owed to our patient and understanding readers. Your support will not go unrewarded.
Our Editor/Publisher is doing well (he thanks you for your well wishes) and he is already preparing for the next issue of ClassicVGM. Our server no longer contains digital issues, and going forward, this should deter pirates from sniffing around.
In other related news, we have changed services / servers to avoid being hacked any further. Our apologies if you tried to correspond with us via email and haven’t received a response. Our email server was hacked and the contents therein were deleted, and certain staff accounts were destroyed. If you have written us and haven’t received a response, we urge you to write us now. Our Editor / Publisher, Mike, wishes to handle things personally since returning. He can be contacted at the following email address: mike@classicvgm.com
His goal, along with ours, is to keep our readers and supporters happy. We are always willing to work things out if a person / entity has an unaddressed issue. We thank you once again for your support and understanding.
